Margot Robbie will play Sharon Tate in Quentin Tarantino’s upcoming movie, Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, which means that it now stars herself, Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio. Now that’s what I call an A-List cast!
Once Upon A Time In Hollywood… Quentin Tarantino made a movie with one of the most formidable casts ever put together in the history of Hollywood. First, the director/writer got Leonardo DiCaprio to sign into his Manson family movie. Then he got Brad Pitt involved. And now, he’s managed to secure Margot Robbie – who’ll be reuniting with her The Wolf Of Wall Street co-star, DiCaprio – to play Sharon Tate. That’s cast list is what moviegoers and filmmakers’ dreams are made of. It’s an A-list cast if I’ve ever seen one.
Tarantino made it very clear from the beginning that he wanted Robbie to play Tate in his movie, and according to Deadline, the director was granted his wish. They are still undergoing negotiations, but it looks like we’re not too far off from everything being set in stone.
Once Upon Time In Hollywood will be set in Los Angeles in 1969 and DiCaprio and Pitt will be playing two struggling actors, Rich Dalton and Cliff Booth respectively, trying to make it in Hollywood. Robbie’s Sharon Tate is Rick’s next door neighbour. The film is set to use Charles Manson and the Manson Family as a backdrop to the story and Tarantino has claimed that it’s a story he’s been wanting to tell for years.
“I’ve been working on this script for five years, as well as living in Los Angeles County most of my life, including in 1969, when I was 7 years old. I’m very excited to tell this story of an L.A., and a Hollywood that don’t exist anymore. And I couldn’t be happier about the dynamic teaming of DiCaprio & Pitt as Rick & Cliff,”said the filmmaker.
Once Upon A Time In Hollywood is set to hit our cinema screens on August 9th, 2019, which coincidentally will be the 50th anniversary of the day when the Mansion family brutally murdered the LaBianca’s and the day after Sharon Tate was also killed.
