Brooklyn Nine-Nine Star Reportedly in The Running To Play Luke Cage In The MCU

This is probably the strangest bit of casting ‘news’ I’ve had to write in a while – and you’ll understand why I put quotation marks around the word ‘news’ in a minute. There are rumours that Marvel Studios is looking at Terry Crews to replace Mike Colter as Luke Cage in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

I love this casting rumour, which why I decided to run it on the site. This casting rumour is so left-field that I could help but run it.

Terry Crews is a living legend. He’s incredible as Sergeant Terry Jeffers in Brooklyn Nine-Nine. He’s brilliant in those Old Spice ads. He’s ever incredible as hosting America’s Got Talent. He’s what you might call an all-round entertainer.

Crews is a dying breed of entertainer. He can sing, he can dance, he can act, and he’s got the best muscles in Hollywood.

Now, there are rumours coming courtesy of We Got This Covered (hence the quotation marks around the word ‘news’) that Marvel Studios is looking to replace Mike Colter as Luke Cage with Terry Crews.

Terry Crews would LOVE to play Luke Cage in the MCU!

Firstly, I don’t want to be one to mention age, but it would be rather odd for Marvel to replace Colter with an older actor.

However, Crews does look an awful lot like the character from the comic books, and he doesn’t age, so perhaps he’s the perfect man for the job.

I will be honest, I’m a bit sad that Marvel wants to recast Luke Cage because I really do think that Mike Colter was great in the role, but Terry Crews would make an excellent replacement.
