Tom Ellis Reveals Where Lucifer’s Cameo In Crisis On Infinite Earths Takes Place In Lucifer’s Timeline

The CW’s Crisis On Infinite Earths’ crossover event is currently taking place and the latest episode featured a rather surprising cameo from Lucifer (played by Tom Ellis) and fans of the Devil had rather mixed feelings about his appearance.

The main reason why some people were rather upset to see Lucifer’s cameo in Crisis On Infinite Earths was because Ellis had been asked about it before and he claimed that Lucifer would not be in the crossover event.

However, Crisis On Infinite Earths Part 3 aired, and there he was in a scene with John Constantine (played by Matt Ryan), John Diggle and Oliver Queen’s daughter.

It turned out that Lucifer owed Constantine for bringing Maze to Earth, so he repaid him the favour by giving him a card which granted them access to Purgatory.

However, fans of Lucifer were rather puzzled by when this event actually took place, and Tom Ellis was on-hand to answer our questions.

It turns out that this moment actually took place five years before the events of the now-Netflix TV show.

Here’s what Ellis told Entertainment Tonight when they asked him about it:

We’re playing it as if it’s in the five years before the show, Lucifer, started, so when Lucifer spent five years in L.A. before meeting the detective and all those things unfolding,. This is him in his proper playboy, don’t-give-a-damn-about-anything stage in his life. He is very irreverent with our characters when they turn up in the scene and obviously, with Constantine, there is some history there.

This kind of makes sense after watching the Crisis On Infinite Earths episode because the Lucifer in that scene didn’t seem like the Lucifer in the later seasons of the Netflix TV show.
