The answer to the question of whether Loki Season 2 is happening is a simple one: yes. It was revealed at the very end of Loki Season 2 in a post-credits scene. However, since then, news on the second season has been rather scarce. Not much is known about what will happen and who will star in the show.
However, there are some things that we’ve found out about Loki Season 2. Namely, it looks like the show will be released in 2023.

It was revealed by Backstage that Loki Season 2 would be starting production in the UK this June. That’s fantastic news! Some may say it’s glorious news! They also revealed that shooting will be taking place at Pinewood Studios near London. It’s actually located in the small English village of Iver Heath.
With this in mind, it means that Season 2 should be done filming towards the end of 2022. Given the fact that these shows tend to take about 3 to 6 months in post-production, we could be seeing Loki Season 2 be released as early as March 2023.

As far as what could happen in Loki Season 2, well, it looks Tom Hiddleston’s God of Mischief is going to be spending most of the time trying to figure out how to get things back to relative normality. The end of the first season of Loki was a bit of a humdinger! Loki found himself at the Time Variance Authority office again.
Utterly confused about what was going on and what to do next, Loki rushes through the offices to find Agent Mobius (Owen Wilson). After running through the library, Loki stumbles upon Mobius and Hunter B-15. He confesses what happened to him, Sylvie and He Who Remains (Jonathan Majors) at the end of time.
He tells them that they need to prepare for an oncoming war. However, Mobius and Hunter B-15 have no idea who Loki is and what he’s talking about. They try to calm the Asgardian down. Loki then turns toward the centre of the library and sees a huge statue of He Who Remains which has replaced the statue of the Time Keepers.

That was one heck of an ending, and I for one cannot wait to see what happens next. As for who will star in Loki Season 2, we only have one confirmed name on the cast: Tom Hiddleston. However, I’m pretty sure that Owen Wilson, Sofia Di Martino, Jonathan Majors and Gugu Mbatha-Raw will all be back for Season 2.
I also think that Wunmi Mosaku is also going to be back for Season 2. Michael Waldron was the creator and showrunner of the first season. I would expect him also to be the showrunner on Loki Season 2. What we do know is that Kate Herron will not be directing the episodes of the second season. She announced last year that she will not be returning for Season 2.
Herron directed all the episodes of the first season. Loki Season 2 should be released on Disney Plus in 2023.
