Justice League’s New Chinese Trailer Answers Some DCEU Timeline Questions

Justice League has a new Chinese trailer which seems to answer some questions we had regarding the DCEU’s timeline which previous trailers had raised.

WARNING: SPOILERS for the Wonder Woman movie coming up

“Long before I was born he came as a spearhead of an alien invasion.” Wonder Woman’s line at the beginning of Justice League’s new Chinese trailer seems to answer many of the questions we had regarding the DCEU’s timeline. There were scenes in previous trailers in which Steppenwolf and his army were fighting the Amazonian warriors. This scene was the source of much debate on the Internet regarding the DCEU’s timeline and how that scene would fit into the Justice League’s timeline. The question, of course, was whether this scene took place in the present day or whether it was a flashback. Many fans were hoping to see the return of Robin Wright’s Antiope (if you’ve seen Wonder Woman, then you’ll know what I’m talking about), yet it looks like she’ll be part of this epic battle scene which is going to be a flashback sequence. Check out Justice League’s new Chinese trailer below, via ComicBook.com.

It would seem that this scene in question, which will involve Robin Wright’s Antiope, will be an epic battle that took place before Diana was born, between the Amazonian Warriors, who seem to be fighting alongside Greek Gods (Zeus seems to make a brief appearance in one of the previous trailers), and Steppenwolf’s army of Parademons. Steppenwolf actually answers to Darkseid, who’s the real big bad behind this all, and he’s the rule of an awful planet known as Apokolips. Darkseid and Steppenwolf enjoy going around the universe looking for planets to conquer and Earth seems to be back on the menu.

Thanks to this trailer we now know that Darkseid and Steppenwolf had already tried to conquer Earth but they were forced to retreat by the Gods. Yet, these Gods seem to have vanished over the years and it’s up to Wonder Woman, Batman, The Flash, Aquaman and Cyborg (and maybe Superman at some point) to save the world from an alien invasion. Sounds like Justice League will be a pretty good time at the cinema if you ask me.
