Juggernaut Set To Return In Marvel Studios’ X-Men Movies

The Juggernaut is a rather interesting character in Marvel’s X-Men universe. In the movies, he’s been portrayed as just a battering ram, which he kind of is.

However, in the comics, there is a lot more nuance to the character, and he does have a rather difficult backstory.

The Juggernaut is basically what it says on the tin. He merciless, destructive, and unstoppable, which is what the word means, so it’s pretty much perfect.

I’m pretty sure that even Hulk would have a tough time against The Juggernaut, and I’m sure they have pitted the two against each other in the comics.

Anyway, according to We Got This Covered, Marvel Studios is thinking of bringing the character into the MCU in their future X-Men movies.

Marvel regained control of the X-Men movie franchise after Disney acquired the rights to all of Fox’s movie properties which included the X-Men and all the characters that come with it.

One of these characters is The Juggernaut, and it’s about time he came home.

I’m pretty sure you’ll remember his appearance in X-Men: The Last Stand in which he was played by Vinnie Jones and said the line, “I’m the Juggernaut, bitch”.

Sounds a little bit like Jessie Pinkman in Breaking Bad, just not as good.

Anyway, Juggernaut’s real name is Cain Marko, and he was created by Stan Lee and artist/co-writer Jack Kirby and is the stepbrother of Professor X in the comics.

This particular family connection was never covered in the movies. As a matter of fact, it was totally ignored and the just used Juggernaut, as mentioned before, as a battering ram.

He was created in 1965 and he was also seen in Deadpool 2, motion-captured and voiced by Ryan Reynolds.

I wonder whether Marvel Studios will get Reynolds to play the character again in the MCU? That would be pretty fun, don’t you think?
