Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker Might Join Robert Pattinson’s Dark Knight In The Batman Trilogy

this would be very strange indeed if it ended up happening, but there are now rumours that Warner Bros. Pictures wants Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker to go up against Robert Pattinson’s Dark Knight in Matt Reeves’ Batman trilogy.

Batman and the Joker are mortal enemies. They are probably the two best-known adversaries in the world of pop culture.

The only who mortal enemies in the world of pop culture that come anywhere near close to Batman and The Joker would be James Bond and Blofeld, but they are a pretty long way behind the DC Comics characters in that regard.

Anyway, according to We Got This Covered’s sources, this is something that Warner Bros. Pictures really wants to happen.

They’re desperate to find a way to put R-Pats’ Batman up against Joaquin Phoenix’s Arthur Fleck, a.k.a. The Joker.

I’m going to be honest, I can’t see this happening. First off, the ages aren’t quite right.

We come face-to-face with a very young Bruce Wayne in Todd Phillips’ Joker, and he’s too young to end up turning into Robert Pattinson’s version of the character.

The main reason why this wouldn’t work would be due to the fact that Phoenix’s Joker would be pretty old when Bruce finally becomes Batman in Phillips’ universe.

Joker is also a great standalone movie, and I don’t think it would be a good idea to start interlinking it with Matt Reeves’ The Batman.

It just doesn’t feel like the two worlds would match. One of the reasons why Joker was so successful in my eyes is because it’s the least ‘comic-booky’ comic book movie made in a long time.

That along with Phoenix’s mesmerising performance is why Joker did so well at the box office.

Trying to blend that which whatever Reeves and Pattinson are cooking up just wouldn’t work, as far as I’m concerned.

What do you guys think? Would you like to see Robert Pattinson’s Batman go up against Phoenix’s Joker?
