Joaquin Phoenix Now Wants To Do A Joker Sequel

There’s been a lot of talk about the Joker sequel, which we’ll call Joker 2 for now, and people have been desperate to know whether it’ll happen or not.

Some media outlets have been claiming that Joaquin Phoenix won’t do it, and others claim that he will be up for it.

However, he’s spoken recently about whether he would be up for a sequel or not, and it certainly sounds like he’s been thinking of it.

Phoenix was talking to The Los Angeles Times and he was asked about a possible Joker sequel, and the actor revealed that he was thinking about it even whilst on set of Joker.

“Long before the release or before we had any idea if it would be successful, we talked about sequels. In the second or third week of shooing, I was like, ‘Todd, can you just start working on a sequel? There’s way too much to explore.’ It was kind of in jest — but not really.”

This sounds like there’s an idea there for him and Todd Phillips to do a Joker sequel, especially if they were already talking about it on set.

He also revealed that he photoshopped Joker into movie posters of the classic films that inspired the movie.

“I basically said, ‘You could take this character and put him in any movie.’ So I did a photo shoot with the on-set photographer and we made posters where I Photoshopped Joker into 10 classic movies: Rosemary’s Baby, Raging Bull, Yentl. If you see it, you’re like, ‘Yeah, I’d watch that movie.’ Yentl with Joker? That would be … amazing!”

This really goes make it sound like both Phoenix and Phillips would be up to do a Joker sequel if they have a good idea for it and write a fantastic script.
