Jared Leto Isn’t Happy About The Joker Movie Snub

Back in 2016 Jared Leto was the man tasked with the huge burden of playing the Joker in David Ayer’s film, Suicide Squad. Yet when the film came out, people weren’t too impressed by his performance.

There were reports of Leto’s strange behaviour on set, which included sending used anal beads and condoms to his co-stars.

I would argue that that was unacceptable behaviour, even if it were on a film set with an actor who was ‘going method’ with the role.

The whole thing sounded utterly ludicrous to me, and the worst thing was that his performance was mediocre at best.

Anyway, Warner Bros. didn’t turn to the actor to play the role again. He’s not going to be in The Birds Of Prey movie, in which Margot Robbie will be reprising her role as Harley Quinn.

He also won’t be in James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad, and it’s been reported that Gunn isn’t the biggest fan of Leto.

He also wasn’t asked to play the Joker in Todd Phillips’ new film, Joker.

Todd and Warner Bros. turned to Joaquin Phoenix instead, and thank God they did. Phoenix puts in an incredible performance in that film, and I highly doubt Leto would have been able to match it.

That said, it’s been reported via The Hollywood Reporter that Leto really isn’t happy about being snubbed for the movie.

According to the report, the fact he was snubbed by Warner Bros left the actor feeling “alienated and upset by the move”.

I’m not really surprised by this since it confirms the fact that Warner Bros. no longer his services and means that Leto will no longer get to play the role.

He probably should have thought about that before going all method and pissing off his co-stars.

Moreover, Joaquin Phoenix has expressed a desire to play the role again in a future film, which means that there could be more Joker movies down the road.

Honestly, I would like to see Joaquin play the role again, yet I don’t think it’s really necessary. The film ends in a way that keeps you guessing, and I like that.

I also wouldn’t be surprised if Joaquin ends up getting nominated for an Oscar, which would just rub salt in Leto’s already painful wound.

Joker is out in cinemas in the UK now, so make sure you watch it if you haven’t already. I’m already gearing up for my second viewing of the movie.
