James Gunn Reveals His Secret Personal Guardians Of The Galaxy Awesome Mixtape Vol. 0

Director of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1 and 2 has taken to Twitter to reveal his secret personal Awesome Mixtape Vol. 0. These are basically all the songs that didn’t make the final cut.

The Guardians of the Galaxy movies are not only great films in their own right, but they also feature loads of great tunes. James Gunn prides himself on his ability to choose the perfect songs to put in his movies, and I have to say that the music in both Guardians Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 is incredible. I always end up listening to the films’ soundtracks over and over again. However, what about the music that never made it into the movies? Well, James Gunn has taken to Twitter to reveal his secret personal Awesome Mixtape Vol. 0. Check his tweet out below.

Now, most of the music was never meant to be heard in the Guardians movies. As Gunn says himself, he played this music on set when they were filming the Boot of Jemiah scenes, and when you listen to the playlist, you’ll understand why. It gets you in the mood to party. Most of the music from the movies come from the 60s and 70s. I’m guessing that some more modern tracks will come into Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 with Peter Quill now having access to a Zune. Yes, people, the Zune is making a comeback (no, it isn’t).

Talking of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, there have been reports claiming that Mark Hamill and James Gunn have met over the possibility of getting the Star Wars actor involved in the third movie. The Guardians movies have featured other big-name cameos from the likes of Sylvester Stallone, Michelle Yeoh and David Hasselhoff.

Here’s the list, just in case you were wondering:

1. Never Wanted to Dance by Mindless Self Indulgence

2. Party Hard by Andrew W.K.

3. The Way It Was featuring Bionik by Aceyalone and Bionik

4. I Like It, I Love It by Lyrics Born

5. Let’s Dance to Joy Division by The Wombats

6. Start Wearing Purple by Gogol Bordello

7. Ben Vereen by Pigeon John

8. Teenagers by My Chemical Romance

9. Black List featuring Juskwan by Lyrikill

10. Timebomb by Old 97s

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 should be in our cinemas in 2020, but there’s no actual release date as of yet.
