Hulk Gets a Voice in the New Thor: Ragnarok Trailer

Marvel has released another trailer for Thor: Ragnarok, and not only does the film look brilliant, but it also features a few lines from the Incredible Hulk!

The last trailer for Thor: Ragnarok was arguably one of the best Marvel trailers ever made. It just made the film seem so much more fun than any of the previous Thor movies. It had that lovely 80s neon aesthetic, the incredible soundtrack featuring Led Zeppelin’s Immigrant Song, and also had a spine tingling moment between Thor and Hulk. This new trailer shows a bit more of the film’s plot and it looks like director Taika Waititi has added is own twist to the mix. Check out the trailer below.

OK, so the thing that everyone will be talking about, including myself, is that the Hulk actually talks in this movie. If you’re familiar with the comic which this is loosely based on, Greg Pak’s Planet Hulk, then this won’t surprise you that much. There are a few Planet Hulk references in this trailer. The fact that Hulk talks is one of them, but there’s also Hulk’s Gladiator amour, and there’s even a brief glimpse as Korg, who’s a character from the comic. Korg will actually be voiced by Waititi, and I for one cannot wait to hear what he says. I have no doubts that whatever he ends up saying, it’ll be hilarious.

However, one of the things that impressed me the most about the trailer, and what I’ll be looking forward to the most when Thor: Raganrok hits theatres, is its Guardians of the Galaxy vibe. Thor puts together a team of misfits (including Tom Hiddleston’s Loki), who will be flying around in space, in order to defeat a powerful foe, Cate Blanchett’s Hela, who looks Hela-awesome (sorry). There’s a moment in the trailer where she calls herself “The Goddess of Death”, and we all know how besotted Thanos is with Death. Could he be trying to impress her in Avengers: Infinity War? Perhaps. Who knows…?

What’s more likely is that she’s working for Death, since in the comics Hela has a pact with her which allows her to claim the souls of any worshipper of the Asgardians. Sounds interesting.

Thor: Ragnarok will be in UK cinemas on October 27th.
