Hugh Jackman Opens Up On Filming Logan’s Emotional Death Scene

Hugh Jackman has recently opened up about what it was like filming that emotional death scene in his last ever Wolverine movie, Logan.

I think I’ve said it time and time again, Logan is one of the best comic book movies ever made.

It was made even more poignant by the fact that it was Huge Jackman’s last ever time playing Wolverine.

Jackman had been playing the Marvel Comics character for years up to Logan, and he thought it was time to say goodbye to the role he’d made his own.

Playing Wolverine made Jackman’s career and without that role, I don’t think he’d be the star he is today.

Jackman obviously knows this as well, which is why he’s always been so invested in the role and the fans.

He recently spoke about what it was like filming Logan’s death scene in the movie.

He opened up about filming this scene during a recent ‘lockdown’ episode of Variety’s Actors on Actors.

He was chatting to his Les Misérables co-star, Anne Hathaway and they ended up getting onto the subject of Logan.

Here’s Hugh Jackman had to say about filming Logan’s death scene:

I knew it was going to be my last one way before we wrote it. I made that decision. There was a weight of expectation that I’d been carrying. I was super invested.

I felt so in it. I was working with a director that I worked with three times before, who I trust implicitly, Jim Mangold. I remember when we shot that scene, we were shooting very high altitude, and there were thunderstorms going off everywhere, and we had to shut down. He just said, ‘We can’t do this big stunt scene. But we’re just going to do the death scene.’ I’m like, ‘Like, now?’ He goes, ‘I’m just going to have you and Dafne [Keen], and if you could just do that.’ I’m like, ‘All right.’ He knew that’s best for me.
