Check Out Henry Cavill’s Superman With That Infmous Moustache

There was a lot written about those infamous Justice League reshoots, and most of the column inches were devoted to Henry Cavill’s Superman and his incredible moustache (or lack thereof).

To cut a long story short, Henry Cavill was forced to return to the set of Justice League with a moustache.

He wasn’t allowed to shave it because he was also filming the latest Mission: Impossible movie, Mission: Impossible – Fallout, in which he was playing the film’s villain and his character had some very fetching facial hair.

So, this meant that some poor person (or people) had to then go through the Justice League reshot footage and painstakingly remove Henry Cavill’s facial hair.

It ended up looking very strange indeed and it became quite a big joke.

But there’s a new image of Henry Cavill as Superman (via DocDoomClassic on Reddit) wearing the moustache, and you know what, he doesn’t look that bad.

I reckon they could have kept it in, but it would have been a bit of a continuity error.

Yet, it would have been a whole lot less offputting than the strange lip they ended up giving Superman in the movie.

His whole mouth seemed off due to all the CGI. There was some real uncanny valley stuff going on with Justice League’s Superman.

Ultimately, Superman’s weird chin/lip didn’t make much of a difference because the film as a whole was a bit crap, which was a huge shame.

The film had many more issues before release than Henry Cavill’s moustache. Zack Snyder was forced to leave the project due to personal matters.

This meant that Joss Whedon had to step in and finish the movie, and he didn’t much care for what Snyder had done up until then and wanted to change the film’s tone.

He made it lighter, added a few jokes here and there, and tried to alter the course of the DCEU.

What ended up happening was Warner Bros. Pictures released an absolute mess of a movie and we were basically watching the death of the DCEU as we knew it.

We’ve had Aquaman and Shazam! come out since, and both movies were fine. However, Warner Bros. and DC are now looking to change things up with the DCEU.

The success of Joker might force them to make more standalone DC Comics movies, which I wouldn’t mind personally.
