Hellbound is causing quite a stir on Netflix right now. People are loving the show and it’s performing really well. But, what about the upcoming seasons? What’s happening with Hellbound Season 3? Are they happening? If so, when will they be released on the streaming platform? Let’s investigate.
First off, is Season 2 of Netflix’s new series happening or not? The show’s creator, Yeon Sang-ho, has opened up about it. Check out what he had to say about their place for Season 2 during his recent interview with Variety below:
They very much agreed to and related to my creative vision, but they also created an environment where I didn’t have to think about anything else aside from focusing on my creativity in terms of distribution or when or how to release the series.
Because Hellbound is based on the original webtoons, my partner Choi Kyu-Seok and I have decided that the story afterwards will be told first through the webtoon and, as for whether we would want to turn that into another live-action series, that’s something that we will need further discussion on.
As you know, we have only just released Hellbound season 1 and so we didn’t have any time to discuss that issue with Netflix. So I would say this is something we need further discussion on.
Season 2 is already in the works

What Yeon is saying here is rather interesting. He neither confirms nor denies that Season 2 is happening. However, he revealed that they have plans in mind for what could happen in a second season. He also revealed that Netflix agreed to his “creative vision”, which means that they agreed to make however many seasons he wanted to make. This means that the ball’s very much in the creator’s court.
That said, we were informed by a Netflix insider that Season 2 is happening. They weren’t able to offer us any details about who’s going to be starring in the second season. That said, I’m pretty certain that most of the first season’s cast will be back – well, the ones that didn’t die that is. Here’s what the insider had to say about Season 2 on Netflix:
Yes, we are working on a second season for Netflix. No details to share about it yet, but we’re excited.

So, it looks like Netflix is already working on Season 2, but what about Season 3? Well, it does seem as though Netflix is really keen on making the new series as big a hit as they possibly can. So, with that in mind, I’m pretty much certain that they are already working on the third season behind the scenes. It does seem as if there is already an agreement in place between the show’s creator, Yeon Sang-ho and Netflix.
I would expect there to be already plans that have been put in place for multiple future seasons of this show. Also, given the fact that Season 1 has proven to be so popular seems to indicate that Netflix will want to make as many seasons of this show as they can.

OK, when could Season 3 be released on Netflix? That’s not an easy question to answer. It’s actually pretty much impossible. However, we can hazard a guess at when Season 3 could be released. Should they go into production on Season 2 relatively soon, then that should be coming to Netflix in 2022 – 2023. It would expect them to make Seasons 2 and 3 back to back, which means we could see Season 2 being released in December 2022 and then Season 3 of the series in December 2023.
Again, that’s a guess, but this is based on what we have been told already about Season 2 and also what the creator has already said about future seasons of the show.

I’m all for the spinoff. But bringing back the dead actors that we’ve seen first hand killed off. Is a little bit off the wall. We physically witness everyone who either turned from a bite or was eaten up by a zombie. However, I love the walking dead and the writer’s will give up a good story.
