Guardians Of The Galaxy’s Dave Bautista Says That The Chances Of A Drax Movie Are “Astronomically High”

Dave Bautista has said that the chances of us getting a Guardians of the Galaxy spinoff Drax movie are very high, or to use his words, “astronomically high”.

Dave Bautista’s Drax has become one of the most popular members of the Guardians of the Galaxy, some may say he’s one of the most popular Marvel movie characters. Bautista perfectly portrays Drax, otherwise known as Drax the Destroyer. He’s a man who takes everything literally and is unable to understand jokes, although spending a lot of time with Star-Lord and his constant shenanigans have helped him to learn.

After the news that Jared Leto would be getting his Joker standalone movie, Bautista took to Twitter to say that the possibilities of there being a Drax standalone movie are “astronomically high”. Here’s what he had to say on the matter:

“But on the bright side! Which I usually try to look at… if this can happen then the chances of me getting a Drax movie have got to be astronomically high! Like so high that I’m going to stop tweeting and sit by the phone and wait for @MarvelStudios to call! ….any second now!”

Guardians director, James Gunn, then replied to Bautista’s tweet saying: “Just tried calling”. Could this mean that he’s got a script at the ready? Could this actually happen? Personally, I don’t think we need a Drax standalone movie. What we should get is just a One-Shot in which we see Drax take up stand-up comedy. Now, that would be something I’d love to watch, and I’m sure a lot of Marvel and Drax fans would also want to see.

We already know that Bautista will be reprising his role as Drax in Avengers 4, even though he was ‘dusted’ in Avengers: Infinity War.
