Game of Thrones season 8’s Iron Throne Ending Was Predicted In Season One

Game of Thrones season eight has come to an end and everything’s been revealed, however, it looks like the ending may have been predicted way back in season one.

Game of Thrones has now officially come to an end and it’s proven to be rather divisive. Many fans, including myself, felt that the last two seasons were a bit rushed.

However, it all ended with Bran Stark (played by Isaac Hempstead-Wright) ending up on the throne. Although, the throne was melted by Drogon, so that would mean that he was just sitting on top of a mass of melted steel.

This wasn’t totally unexpected as many people had predicted before season eight aired that Bran would end up being the ruler of Westeros.

Yet, it seems as though this eventuality may have been teased way back in season one. Now, hear me out on this one.

So, when the first season came out, way back in 2011, it was released with a rather eye-catching poster.

Game of Thrones season 1’s poster

In this poster, Sean Bean’s Ned Stark was sitting on the Iron Throne in a rather pensive manner, clutching his sword (and no, that’s not a euphemism).

Ned didn’t end up on the throne. He wasn’t given the chance since he ended up having his head chopped off. Not nice of them, might I add.

It’s what’s next to him which has caught the eye of some viewers. Perched on the edge of the throne is a raven.

“Why is this significant?!” I hear you scream at me. It’s significant because Bran is also known as the Three-Eyed Raven. This could be the show’s creators putting in a little clue as far back as season one regarding who’ll be sitting on the Iron Throne at the very end.

However, it could just be the poster’s designer having some fun and accidentally predicting the end of the show, which would also be pretty cool and slightly eerie as well.

You can stream the entirety of Game of Thrones via Sky Now just in case you haven’t seen it all already, or why not purchase it via Amazon and give me a little kickback. Always much appreciated.
