Dwayne Johnson Stars In First Jungle Cruise Trailer

Disney is really going the extra mile to make the next big film franchise, and they think they’ve hit gold with Jungle Cruise, which now has its very first trailer.

This film is based on one of the oldest rides at their Disneyland park, and it seems as though they’re trying to get another Pirates of the Carribean-esc franchise kickstarted.

Jungle Cruise will be lead by two of the most popular actors working today – Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt.

I’m going to be honest, when I heard that Disney was making another movie based on one of their rides, my first thought was, ‘Wow, Disney has really run out of ideas…’

I do still stand by that statement. Before this, they made all those Pirates of the Carribean movies as well as a Haunted Mansion movie which starred Eddie Murphy,

The Haunted Mansion movie didn’t too well, but Pirates raked in the cash, and they’ll be hoping that Jungle Cruise can do the same.

Johnson’s movies tend to perform well at the box office, but we are in danger of over-saturation when it comes to The Rock.

He’s starred in a lot of movies recently, and they haven’t all been hits. Hobbs & Shaw did well, but the likes of Baywatch, Rampage and Skyscraper didn’t do too well.

Judging by Jungle Cruise’s first trailer, the film will be an action-adventure movie with lots of Pirates-esc action, which is a good thing.

I also like the chemistry between Blunt and Johnson, and the two look like they’ll make quite a good duo on-screen together.

Jungle Cruise stars Johnson, Blunt, Jesse Plemons, Jack Whitehall, Paul Giamatti, and Edgar Ramirez.

It is directed by Jaume Collet-Serra (The Shallows, Unknown and The Commuter).

Producers on the film include Seven Bucks Productions’ Dany Garcia (Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle) and Hiram Garcia (Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw), along with John Davis and John Fox (Game Night), Douglas C. Merrifield (The Shallows), and Scott Sheldon (Baywatch).

Disney’s Jungle Cruise arrives in cinemas in the UK on July 24th, 2020.
