Dwayne Johnson Confirms That Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle Is Getting A Sequel

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson took to Instagram to announce that Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle did so well at the box office that it’s officially getting a sequel!

Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle turned out to be something of a huge hit. I saw it and loved it. Check out our review to find out why I found it to be so surprisingly good. Nobody saw this coming, yet in retrospect, you should never underestimate the power of The Rock. People just love the guy, myself included. He’s proven to be a real box office draw over the years and has been coined ‘franchise viagra’, and he’s certainly given the Jumanji franchise new found life.

Dwayne Johnson was in London promoting his current movie, Rampage, and he took to Instagram to reveal to his fans that Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle has become Sony Pictures’ highest-grossing film domestically (in the US) and towards the end of the video he announced that the sequel is happening. There have been rumours of a sequel to Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle for a while now but nothing official was announced until now. You can’t get more official than The Rock saying it on social media.

This whole thing just shows how much of a good businessman The Rock is. He’s currently promoting one movie, and he’s already thinking about what’s coming next. He revealed just the other day that shooting on the Black Adam movie will begin next year and now he’s lining up a sequel to what has become Sony’s most profitable movie ever in the US. Is there anything The Rock can’t do? It really is all set up for The Rock to take the Oval Office in 2020. I’d vote for the guy, if I were American, which I’m not, so never mind.
