Doctor Strange’s Benedict Wong Discusses Doctor Strange 2’s Potential Villain

Doctor Strange 2 is in the works and it has one of the coolest movie titles ever in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

The film’s called Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness, which is a terrific title, and I’m really looking forward to seeing the movie.

It’ll see the likes of Benedict Cumberbatch return as Doctor Strange, as well as Benedict Wong as Wong.

Doctor Strange 2 will also see the return of director Scott Derrickson, and he revealed that the film will be a bit of a horror movie. Seriously, I’m so sold on this movie!

The first Doctor Strange movie featured Mads Mikkelsen as the film’s villain, Kaecilius, at it doesn’t look like he’ll be returning in the sequel, which is a shame.

If I were to criticise the first film – which I loved by the way – for one thing, it would be for having underused such a fantastic actor as Mikkelsen.

That said, it’s time for the next Doctor Strange villain and many people are suggesting that it might be time for Nightmare to appear in the MCU.

With that in mind, ComicBook.com asked Benedict Wong about the villain in the upcoming movie, and he suggested that Nightmare wouldn’t be a bad idea.

“I don’t really know, to be honest… I think there’s Nightmare, isn’t there?” he replied.

He continued: “I don’t really know that many to be honest, I just kind of allow it to appear. Whatever happens, I just allow it to happen.”

Wong’s obviously being very coy on the matter, and it doesn’t seem as though he’s overly familiar with the comic books.

That said, Scott Derrickson recently stated publicly that he wants to incorporate Nightmare and the Dream Dimension in his Doctor Strange sequel.

Nightmare was the brainchild of Stan Lee and Steve Ditko who came up with the villain back in 1963.

The villain is the ruler of the Dream Dimension and one of the Fear Lords.

As his name suggests, he has the ability to draw power from people when they’re sleeping and gives them nightmares.
