Disney Rumoured To Want To Bring Sigourney Weaver Back For An Alien Movie

It’s being rumoured that Disney investors are very keen on the idea of bringing Sigourney Weaver back for a future Alien movie. This report comes from industry insider Daniel Richtman.

Sigourney Weaver was going to be in an Alien movie which was going to come from District 9’s writer and director, Neill Blomkamp. They released some concept art from the movie, and it looked incredible.

However, that project ended up falling through and Fox went ahead with the likes of Prometheus and Alien: Covenant. Those were the movies that Ridley Scott made. Yet, it sounds like Disney investors are keen on the idea of Sigourney Weaver coming back for another Alien movie.

According to industry insider, Daniel Richtman, Disney investors are the ones who want this to happen. He didn’t go into specifics about whether Weaver was into this idea or not.

She did recently say that she wouldn’t rule out returning to the franchise to play Ellen Ripley. She first played the character in Scott’s Alien way back in 1979. She then went on to play her again in Aliens, Alien 3 and Alien Resurrection.

Aliens was pretty good. That movie was directed by James Cameron. However, it was really a case of diminishing returns after that movie. That said, Weaver was always perfect in the role. I really do hope to see her play Ripley again one day.
