Deadpool 2’s Post-Credits Scenes Almost Included Chris Evans’ Human Torch And Baby Hitler

When Deadpool 2’s writers started discussing the film’s post-credits scenes, they thought that Chris Evans’ Human Torch and baby Hitler should be in them, but they eventually decided against it.

WARNING: SPOILERS FOR DEADPOOL 2 COMING UP!

Deadpool 2’s post-credits scenes are arguably some of the best moments in comic book history. So, just in case you haven’t seen the movie yet, I’ll warn you one last time: there are SPOILERS to follow. Right, now that we’ve got all of that out of the way, let’s talk Deadpool 2’s post-credits scene. They retcon everything Ryan Reynolds has ever done. Deadpool manages to fix Cable time travelling device, thanks to Negasonic Teenage Warhead, and goes back in time to eliminate all the possible X-Men related plot holes and all the bad comic book movies that Ryan Reynolds has ever appeared in, namely Green Lantern and X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

It’s easily one of the best post-credits scenes ever and was the best part of the movie for me, which was pretty darn good as a whole. But Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese, Deadpool 2’s writers, recently revealed that they had a lot more ideas for these post-credits scenes. In an interview with Uproxx, the pair revealed that there were ideas to incorporate Chris Evans’ Human Torch and baby Hitler. “There were different codas kicked around. There were more X-Force interviews that were talked about. One was Chris Evans as Human Torch,” they explained.

They were then asked if it didn’t happen because Evans declined to be a part of the scene, they said: “No, no, we never got that far. Someone had the idea we actually did and we thought that was better. But we definitely had a lot more X-Force interviews with bizarre, random people coming in to interview.” Later on in the interview, they revealed that there was a scene in which Deadpool went back in time and killed baby Hitler, but they decided not to include it because they felt they might have gone a bit too far, and that’s saying something when it comes to Deadpool 2.

Would you have liked to have seen Evans reprise his role as Johnny Storm and Deadpool kill baby Hitler? Let us know in the comments below.
