Deadpool 2: Deadpool Gives David Beckham An Apology To Remember In This New Promo

Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool went above and beyond in his apology to David Beckham for having made fun of his voice in the first Deadpool in this new promo for Deadpool 2.

There were a lot of jokes in the first Deadpool. It would be difficult to single out just one of them, yet there was a particular joke about David Beckham’s voice which was quite memorable, and Wade Wilson tries everything he can to apologise to the legendary footballer/businessman in the new promo for Deadpool 2.

In the first Deadpool movie, Wade Wilson says: “Looks are everything. You ever heard David Beckham speak? It’s like he mouth-sexed a can of helium.” Now, the joke is funny because Beckham does have a slightly high-pitched voice, yet Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool apparently felt terrible about the whole thing since he did his utmost to apologise for it. It also serves as fantastic promotional material for the sequel which is almost upon us.

Who knew that all it would take to get Beckham’s forgiveness are some tickets to the World Cup in Russia. Unfortunately for Wade, Canada didn’t qualify (I can’t remember the last time they did, or if they ever have done). Yet, Beckham seemed happy with Fox’s foul-mouthed superhero’s gesture, and he even got a hug out of it.

Deadpool 2 will be hitting UK cinemas on May 16th and will feature Josh Brolin as Cable – a time-travelling mutant with a bionic arm who’s come from the future to kill Hunt of the Wilderpeople’s Julian Dennison, who’s playing a young mutant called Russel. It’s up to Deadpool and a team of highly-skilled mutants, and Rob Delaney’s Peter, to stop Cable.
