Colin Trevorrow’s Star Wars: Episode 9 Had A Female Darth Maul Type Villain

After having seen J.J. Abrams’ Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker, I couldn’t but wonder what could have been if Kathleen Kennedy and Lucasfilm had kept Colin Trevorrow as the director of Star Wars: Episode 9.

We’ve now seen a bunch of script leaks which have revealed to us what he had in mind for his Star Wars film, and it sounds like it might have made a bit more sense than what we got.

We found out that the movie was going to be called Star Wars: Duel of the Fates, which I think is a much better name.

It was also revealed that there would be no living Palpatine and no redemptive story arc for Kylo Ren, which I wouldn’t have liked so much.

Rey wasn’t going to be related to anybody of note (much better in my opinion), and we also found out thanks to Making Star Wars that there was going to be a villain which looked a lot like the female version of Darth Maul.

In fact, according to the Star Wars-centric outlet, Trevorrow was going to reveal who the Knights of Ren were and give them names and everything, and one of them would have been a female Dathomir.

There was going to be a female Darth Maul in Star Wars: Episode 9

Dathomir was Darth Maul’s homeworld.

This character was going to be known as Sollony Ren and she’s the second-in-command of the Knights of Ren and ended up becoming the new leader of the First Order when Kylo goes off on a mission to find a Sith Holocron.

She was also pulled towards the Dark Side by Snoke and she was one of the other characters trying to stop Kylo from being pulled towards the Light.

She would have ended up becoming the main villain of the movie as she steals the Sith Holocron for herself and Kylo Ren and Rey end up having to team up to defeat her.

Rey was almost going to be killed by her, but Kylo gets in the way, saving her life, and Rey then kills the Dathomir.
