Colin Farrell Says Matt Reeves’ The Batman Script Is ‘Beautiful, Dark and Moving’

Matt Reeves’ The Batman is already underway and Colin Farrell appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live recently to plug his current movie, The Gentlemen, but they ended up getting onto the subject of his upcoming DC Comics movie and The Penguin.

They spoke a little bit about what Farrell is having to do in order to play The Penguin, and it involves putting on a bit of weight, which he has done.

However, then they started discussing the film’s script, and this was when the Irish actor revealed how impressed he was with Matt Reeves’ finished script.

Here’s what Colin Farrell told Jimmy Kimmel about Reeves’ The Batman script:

I’m still in the process of talking to Matt Reeves, who’s the director and who wrote the script, and wrote a really, really beautiful, dark, moving script. Really gorgeous.

This was when Jimmy Kimmel interjected and asked the actor whether he had read the whole script already, and this was when Colin Farrell revealed that he had done:

Yeah. Yeah. With a chain around my arm and a cryogenically frozen script. It’s all very hush-hush, but it’s a really beautiful script that he wrote and he has a real love for it, Matt. And we’re just in the process of finishing designing the aesthetic of the character.

This all sounds very exciting indeed and there have already been rumours about how great Matt Reeves’ script is.

Robert Pattinson had spoken about how incredible Reeves’ The Batman script was before, and it must be good if it convinced him to come back into making blockbuster movies.

The likes of Pattinson and even to a certain extent Colin Farrell have been very cautious about doing movies like this in the past.

Farrell didn’t have the best experience with comic book movies having starred as Bullseye in that awful Daredevil movie.

However, I think this film is going to be something really special.
