Birds Of Prey’s Reshoots Have Reportedly Dramatically Improved The Film

Birds of Prey sounds like a really interesting movie, but it was recently revealed the film’s undergone extensive reshoots, which happens a lot, but there’s a bit more to this story.

It was reported that the film’s director, Cathy Yan presented a rough cut of Birds of Prey to Warner Brothers and they weren’t happy at all with her film.

They then opted to hire the services of John Wick director Chad Stahelski to helm extensive reshoots on Birds of Prey, which is never a good sign.

It does sound as if the film was in a bit of a bad state, and it’s now been reported by ComicBook.com that the reshoots have done the job.

The media outlet reported that Birds of Prey was now testing a lot better with test audiences after the extensive reshoots.

Sounds like Birds of Prey’s reshoots have saved the movie

Here’s what they had to say about Birds of Prey post-reshoots:

In the case of Birds of Prey, the film won’t be in the pitch-black, grim vein of Joker. Insiders describe the film as a more humorous, spirited, girl-gang adventure, albeit not one for younger childer. A series of recent reshoots dramatically improved test screening results and the studio is confident Birds of Preywill be a hit when it opens in February.

The film will be the next instalment in the DCEU and it’ll star Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn and will be a female-led superhero R-rated caper.

It really does sound like a wonderful idea and Robbie’s performance as Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad was the best thing about that movie, so I really do hope it ends up being a good movie.
