Benedict Cumberbatch Might Play Dracula In Universal Monsters Movie

There are rumours that Benedict Cumberbatch is being considered to play Dracula in an upcoming Universal Monsters movie which is perfect casting.

This rumour comes courtesy of We Got This Covered who claims that Cumberbatch is being considered to play Dracula.

However, they claim that Cumberbatch isn’t the only actor being considered for the role.

Dracula is one of the most interesting roles to play and we’ve already seen some truly great actors play the vampire.

Most recently we saw Claes Bang play Dracula in BBC’s adaptation of Bram Stoker’s novel.

Before him we saw the likes of Christopher Lee, Luke Evans, Bela Lugosi and Gary Oldman play the sinister role.

In all honesty, if anyone were born to play Count Dracula, it might be Benedict Cumberbatch.

He’s already shown over the years what an excellent actor he is.

Cumberbatch has played the likes of Sherlock Holmes, Alan Turning, Khan and Doctor Strange.

Adding Dracula to his list of roles just seems to make sense to me.

That said, we still don’t know what Universal’s plans are with their Monsters universe movies.

We’ve seen them team up with Blumhouse Pictures on The Invisible Man and that movie proved to be a pretty good success.

I think Benedict Cumberbatch will make an excellent Dracula as long as it does not affect his diverse ability to play other challenging roles without being typecast he is among many good actors very talented.
