Avengers: Endgame: James Cameron Congratulates Marvel Movie For Beating Titanic’s Box Office Record

Avengers: Endgame has officially beaten Titanic’s box office record and James Cameron has come out to congratulate the Marvel movie.

People weren’t sure if it could be done. Titanic has occupied that number two spot in the highest-grossing movies of all time list for so long now that it was starting to look like nothing would ever topple it.

However, the day finally came when Titanic would be surpassed at the global box office and the film to do it was Marvel’s latest blockbuster epic, Avengers: Endgame.

Endgame was the culmination of over a decade of movies, and therefore you could argue that its success has been a long time coming.

The Russo brother’s film opened to hugely positive reviews and it looks like fans have been rather pleased with the end result.

As for Cameron, the director took to Instagram to post a rather amusing picture of the Titanic hitting an iceberg in the shape of the Avengers’ logo.

The image also features some text from the great director which reads as follows: “To Kevin and everybody at Marvel, an iceberg sank the real Titanic. It took the Avengers to sink my Titanic. Everyone here at Lightstorm Entertainment salutes you. You’ve shown that not only is the movie industry alive and well, it’s bigger than ever! James Cameron.”

The only other movie in Avengers: Endgame’s way is Cameron’s other huge hit, Avatar. However, it should only be a matter of time before it ends up surpassing that film as well.

Avengers: Endgame is in cinemas now everywhere across the UK, and the globe.
