Ant-Man And The Wasp Is All About The Search For Janet Van Dyne

There are some new Ant-Man And The Wasp images as well as a new synopsis which explains that Paul Rudd’s Scott Lang will go back into the quantum realm to search for Hope van Dyne’s mother, Janet van Dyne.

Peyton Reed’s Ant-Man And The Wasp will be Marvel Studios’ third release of 2018, and they’ve already been killing it so far with Black Panther breaking all sort of box office records and Avengers: Infinity War set to break even more. However, we shouldn’t forget that there’s a third movie set to come out this year and that it’s looking pretty good. We haven’t heard much about Reed’s Ant-Man And The Wasp. We have had a trailer and a few images, but that’s about it. Well, we now have a plot synopsis and a few more stills from the movie via Entertainment Weekly.

According to the plot synopsis, the film will be centred on the search for Hope van Dyne’s mother, Janet van Dyne, who’ll be played by the legendary actress, Michelle Pfeiffer. Paul Rudd’s Scott Land will be re-entering the quantum realm that he sent a brief period in the first movie to search for Hope’s mother and Hank Pym’s (Michael Douglas) wife. Here’s the plot synopsis in its entirety:

“Scott entered the Quantum Realm in the first film and came back, which is something they thought was impossible. The question has arisen, ‘Can Janet come back?’ So the entire film, my character is hell-bent on finding a way to get into the Quantum Realm and bring her back.”

While this seems to be the story’s main arc, the film’s villain will be Ghost who’s going to be played by Ready Player One’s Hannah John-Kamen. In the comics, the character was a man, but Reed decided to change that and make Ghost a woman. He told EW why he chose to make the decision:

“The Ghost character could be male, female, anything, so it just seemed more interesting to us [to cast a woman. Ghost’s primary power is the ability to ‘phase,’ which allows Ghost to move through solid matter. She has all sorts of strange versions of that phasing power — it proves quite difficult for Ant-Man and Wasp to deal with,” explained the director.

Ant-Man And The Wasp is expected to be in cinemas on August 3rd this summer. Will you watch the movie? Let us know in the comments below.
