Alice In Borderland Season 2 is happening, however, we have so many questions: when will it be released on Netflix, who’s going to star in it and what will the story be?

Right, Alice In Borderland is getting a Season 2 – this much we’re sure of.
This was confirmed by Netflix not too long after the first season was released.

So, yes, Alice In Borderland Season 2 is in development as we speak.
However, what about it’s release date? Do we know anything about that yet?
Thankfully, an insider over at Netflix had some information to share with us on that front.
Here’s what they had to say about Alice In Borderland Season 2’s release date.
S2 is happening. Filming began back in July. Set a tentative December 2021 release date. These things can change. Japan, which is where S2 is currently filming, has seen cases go up after the Olympics. But, working hard to hit that end of 2021 release date.
They started filming Alice In Borderland back in July, so production on the second season’s been going on for quite some time already.
The thing is, a December 2021 release date does seem a bit close to me.
I do wonder whether internally at Netflix they decided to push the release date back a bit.
The thing is, we won’t know this because Netflix doesn’t make its release dates public knowledge.
That’s quite a smart move from them because it means they can move things around without having to worry about the public’s reaction.
Who will star in Alice In Borderland Season 2?

Right, let’s move on to the second season’s cast.
The first season of the season was directed by Shinsuke Sato, and it starred Kento Yamazaki and Tao Tsuchiya as allies trapped in an abandoned Tokyo where they are forced to compete in dangerous games, the type and difficulty of which are determined by playing cards.
Kento Yamazaki and Tao Tsuchiya will both be back for Season 2.
The other cast member who’s going to be returning is Nijirō Murakami.
He played the mysterious and devious character, Shuntarō Chishiya in the first season.

Alice In Borderland is based on manga of the same name by Haro Aso.
Those who’ve read the manga might have a good idea of what will happen next.
However, I haven’t read the manga and I kind of don’t want to because I don’t want to spoil the show for myself.
That said, I’ve heard some people who’ve read the manga say that they did change the story slightly.
This means that they still might be some surprises in store for those who’ve read the manga.
