Tom Hardy Has Wrapped Filming On Sony’s Upcoming Venom Movie

Tom Hardy has revealed via Instagram that he has wrapped on Sony Pictures’ Venom movie which is set to hit cinemas later this year.

Tom Hardy will be Venom in the Venom movie. We’ve known that for a while. We’ve also known that he’ll be playing the Eddie Brock version of the character. Hardy seriously bulked up for the role, and he does look the part. Personally, I think he would have been the perfect replacement for Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, but you can’t have everything I suppose.

Anyway, Ruben Fleischer is directing, and he’s been working off a script from Jeff Pinkner and Scott Rosenberg. Fleischer’s previous work includes Zombieland, Gangster Squad and 30 Minutes Or Less, so it’s a bit hit and miss but give him a good script, and I’m sure he can deliver the goods. Also, Hardy is such a commanding screen presence that his could very well be a Venom to remember.

We now know thanks to Hardy’s Instagram post that he’s finished filming which shouldn’t be surprising considering that the movie’s due to come out in October. Venom will also star Michelle Williams, Woody Harrelson, Jenny Slate, Riz Ahmed and apparently Tom Hardy did a few days filming on set, so we might get to see Spider-Man or Peter Parker turn up in this Sony Pictures spin-off Spider-Man movie.

What do you think about the Venom movie? Are you excited about it? Did it make your most anticipated films of 2018 lists as it did ours? Let us know in the comments below.
