The Third Cloverfield Movie Might End Up Being A Netflix Exclusive

There are rumours circling the Internet suggesting that the third Cloverfield movie might end up being a Netflix exclusive and it could be called Cloverfield Station.

The upcoming Cloverfield movie has been shrouded in secrecy. The whole J.J. Abrams-produced franchise has been a mysterious one. Matt Reeves’ first movie came out of nowhere and both shocked and delighted audiences around the globe. Then came 10 Cloverfield Lane and that movie literally came out of the blue. People didn’t even realise that this was a Cloverfield movie until the trailer was released.

We do know that there’s a third movie in the works and it’s been loosely referred to as The God Particle up until now. However, we’ve recently heard rumours that it might be called Cloverfield Station and that it could be a Netflix exclusive. Check out Jeff Sneider’s tweet below which is where this rumour came from.

Sneider’s industry tips have turned out to be true in the past and he’s got a reputation for being a reliable source. If the third Cloverfield movie does end up being a Netflix exclusive it means that it could literally drop at any point which just adds to this franchise’s mysterious quality.

Netflix has already shown that they want to be big players when it comes to movies. They spent a record-breaking $80 million on Bright and I wouldn’t be surprised to see them shell even more money out to get the next Cloverfield movie on their books. Alex Garland’s Annihilation will premiere on the streaming service in the UK later this year, so Netflix is taking this seriously.

This upcoming Cloverfield movie is said to be set on a space station in space, hence the rumoured name, Cloverfield Station. I honestly think they could come up with something a tad more original.

The film is being directed by Julis Onah (The Girl Is In Trouble), produced by J.J. Abrams, and it stars Mbatha-Raw, David Oyelewo, John Krasinski, Chris O’Dowd, Daniel Bruhl, Ziyi Zhang, and Elizabeth Debicki.
