The First Trailer For Shane Black’s The Predator Is Everything We Hoped It Would Be

The very first trailer for Shane Black’s The Predator has arrived, and it looks like the Predator movie we’ve been waiting for since the franchise began. Check it out here.

John McTiernan’s 1987 Predator movie starring an Arnold Schwarzenegger in his prime exploded onto our cinema screens and started a franchise that has stayed alive up until this day. The first film spawned two sequels: Predator 2 (1990) and Predators (2010), and two crossover movies with the Alien franchise: Alien vs. Predator (2004) and Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem (2007). However, the Predator franchise never quite managed to hit the heights of the very first movie – although, I do have a real soft spot of Alien vs. Predator which I can’t really explain.

But then 20th Century Fox announced that Shane Black would be writing and directing a new Predator movie, which got me and many other Predator lovers very excited. Not only has Black proven himself to be a terrific writer and director which films like Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Iron Man 3 and The Nice Guys, but he also has a history with the Predator franchise.

Black was in the first movie as Rick Hawkins – one of the men who went into the jungle with Arnolds’ Dutch. But that’s not all. He was also an uncredited writer on the film. There’s something very poetic in Black coming back to the franchise, and hopefully, it means he can fix it because The Predator hasn’t been very well looked after since 1987.

The Predator also boasts an incredible cast. It stars stars Boyd Holbrook, Thomas Jane, Olivia Munn, Trevant Rhodes, Jacob Tremblay, Yvonne Strahovski, Alfie Allen, Sterling K. Brown, Keegan-Michael Key, and Edward James Olmos.

The film is set to hit UK cinemas on September 14th, and I cannot wait to see it.

Are you looking forward to The Predator as much as I am? Let us know in the comments below
