Solo: A Star Wars Story’s First Trailer Should Finally Be Arriving On Monday

It looks like we’ll finally be seeing the very first trailer for Ron Howard’s Han Solo spinoff movie, Solo: A Star Wars Story, on Good Morning America on Monday next week.

The marketing campaign for Ron Howard’s upcoming Star Wars spinoff movie, Solo: A Star Wars Story, has been fascinating. Fascinating in the fact that it’s been virtually inexistent. There’s been one image from the movie, and they announced the film’s title. That’s about it. We haven’t seen an official poster yet, and there’s been no trailer. Not even an incy wincy teaser. There have been rumours that the film’s very first trailer will be premiered at this weekend’s Super Bowl, but that might not be the case. New reports are suggesting that the trailer will air the following Monday on Good Morning America.

This news came from a site called Trailer Tracker who did some digging and managed to find this out via a ticketing service called 1iota. The listing has since been removed (of course), but it does put into question the accuracy of behind the rumours that Solo: A Star Wars Story’s trailer will be premiered at the Super Bowl. Star Wars movies have had a tendency of being revealed to the world via Good Morning America which is on the Disney-owned network, ABC.

It makes sense since taking out a Super Bowl ad is hugely expensive and doesn’t get seen by as many people as you’d think. They might as well save a few bucks and chuck the trailer on GMA instead. However, a Super Bowl ad would demonstrate that Disney is fully behind this movie which is rumoured to be a bit of a disaster and that Disney is preparing itself for a bit of a kicking on this one. I sincerely hope that this is not the case and that Ron Howard delivers a surprisingly fun and raucous adventure movie set in space with everybody’s favourite smuggler at the helm.
