Netflix Has Just Renewed Marvel’s Jessica Jones For Season 3

Netflix has announced that they’re renewing Marvel’s Jessica Jones for Season 3 which means that we’ll be getting to see more of Kristen Ritter’s awesome TV superhero.

Jessica Jones is arguably one of the best Marvel TV shows. Kristen Ritter’s portrayal of the character is unlike anything else in these Netflix/Marvel collaborations. Jones is a complex, troubled, immensely strong and also rather quite funny. The first season was incredible and featured one of the very best Marvel on-screen villains ever in David Tennant’s Kilgrave. He’s far better than anything we’ve got from the movies. Hopefully, Josh Brolin’s Thanos will change that in Avengers: Infinity War.

However, some people were left feeling a little bit cold by Jessica Jones’ second season. I must admit that it wasn’t quite as powerful as the first, and there was a big Kilgrave sized hole in the series. However, it was still better than the majority of the Netflix/Marvel TV shows, especially Iron Fist, Luke Cage and even The Defenders, which was a letdown in my opinion.

There’s a lot of room for Kristen Ritter’s Jessica Jones to continue to develop in Season 3, and I have every faith that they’ll be able to produce yet another excellent season of Marvel-related fun. I wouldn’t mind seeing some more of Jones’ detective work in the third series, and they should potentially look into her roster of villains and pick out the best one to go against her. The show needs a good villain, and I think that’s why so many people weren’t so keen on Jessica Jones Season 2.

Personally, I’m looking forward to seeing what they do next with the character, and I’m glad that this Netflix/Marvel deal is continuing, even with Disney’s own streaming service looming large on the horizon.
