Mark Millar Thinks Taron Egerton Should Be The Next Wolverine

Comic book writer Mark Millar has revealed that he thinks Taron Egerton should play Wolverine after Hugh Jackman.

Taron Egerton is quickly becoming one of Hollywood’s most sought after actors, and there’s a good reason for it: he’s bloody good on screen.

The actor first came to most people’s attention when he starred as Eggsy in Matthew Vaughn’s very first Kingsman movie: Kingsman: The Secret Service.

This film was based off of a comic book by Mark Millar and they subsequently did a second film called Kingsman: The Golden Circle, which was no way as near as good as the first film, but Taron had already made a name for himself by starring in Eddie The Eagle, alongside none other than Hugh Jackman.

Egerton has more recently appeared as Elton John in the film Rocketman and his performance has received rave reviews.

To cut many opening paragraphs short: Taron Egerton’s a great actor, and it looks like people are starting to take serious notice of him.

Millar has made it very clear how much admiration he has for the actor and he recently took to Twitter to let his followers know that he feels Taron should play Wolverine next.

Here’s what he had to say about it exactly: “From 2002. Always remember I’m never wrong. PS Taron Egerton will be the next Wolverine :).”

So, basically, Millar thinks he can predict the future and he feels that Taron will be cast as Wolverine in the MCU.

With Disney’s takeover of Fox’s properties now being official, that means that they now have regained control of the X-Men property, and it won’t be long before we see them introduced in the MCU.

The question remains: who will take on those iconic characters? They don’t come more iconic than Jackman’s take on Wolverine, which came to a glorious end with the brilliant film Logan.

In my opinion, Egerton would make an excellent Wolverine, and one which would be closer to the comic book version.

We’ll just have to wait and see whether Millar’s able to predict the future yet again.
