J.J. Abrams Says The Script For Star Wars: Episode IX Is Finished

J.J. Abrams went onto the Late Show With Stephen Colbert and revealed that he and Chris Terrio had completed the script for Star Wars: Episode IX, which will start shooting in July.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi proved to be incredibly divisive. Critics loved it, but many of the fans just hated it. It seems quite strange to me since I fervently believe that it’s one of the best Star Wars movies ever made and that people will realise this in the future. Anyway, J.J. Abrams is going to be directing the third and final film of this new Star Wars trilogy, Star Wars: Episode IX, and he also had a hand in writing it.

Abrams started all of this off with Star Wars: The Force Awakens and he and Chris Terrio have been hard at work on Episode IX’s script. It’s quite fitting that Abrams and Terrio are doing this since they are the ones who started it all and propelled Star Wars back into the big time which brought in the big bucks for Disney and Lucasfilm.

Abrams was on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert the other night where he revealed that he and Terrio have finished Episode 9’s script and that they’re going to start shooting in July.

“We have a script, which is a big deal for me. It starts shooting end of July. Having a script in advance is something I haven’t always been lucky enough to have. I’m writing this with Chris Terrio, who is a genius, and I’m having a great time.”

This year we have Solo: A Star Wars Story to look forward to. Hopefully, it’ll give us enough of a Star Wars fix until Star Wars: Episode IX comes out in December. After having seen Solo’s trailer, I’m still a bit unsure what we’re going to be in store for, but I’m sure it’ll be worth watching. As for Episode 9, I simply cannot wait to see what Abrams and Terrio have come up with together.

Star Wars: Episode IX will be in UK cinemas on December 20th, 2019. Are you looking forward to it? Let us know in the comments below.
