Incredibles 2’s New Teaser Shows Off Jack-Jack’s New Powers

Incredibles 2’s new teaser is out and not only does it feature the return of our favourite superhero family, but it also depicts Jack-Jack’s new powers.

Incredibles 2’s new teaser is finally here, and well, it’s… incredible. Not only does it feature the return of our favourite superhero family, but it also depicts Jack-Jack’s new powers, of which he has many. The Incredibles was, and still is, easily one of Pixar’s greatest ever films, yet it’s arguably one of the best superhero films ever made. We live in an age which is saturated with comic book movies, and we’re getting more and more superhero team-up films, yet The Incredibles did it all first and did it better than anything we’ve seen from Marvel and DC Comics since. That fact may be heavily disputed but I believe it to be true.

Now, Disney-Pixar has released a teaser trailer for the sequel to their 2004 hit, simply called Incredibles 2. No colon to be seen, which is a nice change. The film sees the return of the whole family and their voice cast which include the likes of Holly Hunter as Helen Parr / Elastigirl, Craig T. Nelson as Bob Parr / Mr Incredible, Sarah Vowell as Violet Parr, Huck Milner as Dashiell “Dash” Robert Parr and Samuel L. Jackson as Lucius Best / Frozone. The film’s director, Brad Bird (who also directed the original flick) will also be voicing the wonderful Edna Mode, the fashion designer to makes these heroes’ costumes a reality. Check out Incredibles 2’s new teaser trailer below.

If there was one movie that Pixar needed to do a sequel to it was The Incredibles. Instead of faffing around with the Cars franchise and making Finding Dory, I always felt that they should really be working on an Incredibles 2, and it turns out they were. Brad Brid is the film’s director, which is fitting since he directed the first one and hasn’t been quite able to replicate his fine animated work in his live-action movies such as Tomorrowland and Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, both of which are fine, but they don’t pack the punch that The Incredibles, Ratatouille and The Iron Giant did.

Disney also released the film’s plot, which goes as follows:

Everyone’s favorite family of superheroes is back in “Incredibles 2” – but this time Helen (voice of Holly Hunter) is in the spotlight, leaving Bob (voice of Craig T. Nelson) at home with Violet (voice of Sarah Vowell) and Dash (voice of Huck Milner) to navigate the day-to-day heroics of “normal” life. It’s a tough transition for everyone, made tougher by the fact that the family is still unaware of baby Jack-Jack’s emerging superpowers. When a new villain hatches a brilliant and dangerous plot, the family and Frozone (voice of Samuel L. Jackson) must find a way to work together again—which is easier said than done, even when they’re all Incredible.
