Black Panther’s Advanced Tickets Sales Suggest That It’s The Most Anticipated Marvel Movie Ever

Black Panther’s advanced ticket sales have now leapfrogged Captain America: Civil War’s making Marvel’s most anticipated movie ever.

Ryan Coogler’s upcoming Black Panther movie is already one of the most hotly anticipated movies of 2018, but it looks like its going to be even bigger than that. Not only will it be Marvel’s first superhero movie to be lead by a black actor and helmed by an African-American director, but it looks set to be their most anticipated movie ever, beating Captain America: Civil War’s advanced ticket sales in the process.

According to Fandango, Ryan Coogler’s new film sold more advanced tickets in 24 hours than Captain America: Civil War and has sold more tickets than any other film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, therefore making it the most eagerly awaited Marvel movie ever. Apparently, things got so crazy that not even its star Lupita Nyong’o could acquire tickets.

Black Panther was on track to make $90 million in its opening weekend but if these ticket sales are anything to go by, it looks like the movie may be set to break Deadpool’s February opening weekend record which currently stands at $132m.

The film will see Chadwick Boseman reprising his role as T’Challa, the King of Wakanda who also moonlights as the superhero, Black Panther. He’ll be joined by an incredible cast which includes the likes of Michael B. Jordan, Forrest Whitaker, Get Out’s Daniel Kaluuya, Letitia Wright, Martin Freeman, Andy Serkis and Danai Gurira. That’s one heck of a cast and Coogler’s one heck of a director. He already proved how talented he is with his work on Fruitvale Station and Creed.

Black Panther will be hitting UK cinemas on February 12th. Have you booked your tickets yet? Let us know in the comments below
